CHICOPEE ~ John J. Sinowski, Sr., 95, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 16, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett Center West in Chicopee surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on March 15, 1924, a beloved son of the late John S. and Sophia (Turkiewicz) Sinowski. He was raised and educated in Holyoke and had moved to Chicopee many years ago. He was employed at Spalding Sporting Goods in Chicopee and previously worked at the Jahn Foundry in Springfield. Active in his Catholic faith, he was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. John was a hard working man who enjoyed his many jobs. During his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his four loving children, John J. Sinowski, Jr. of Chicopee, Catherine A. Riley and her husband, Richard, of Westfield, and Lori Morales and her companion, Victor, and Donna Catalano and her companion, Kim Beaumier, all of Springfield; his 11 cherished grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and his extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving daughter-in-law, Donna L. (Pelton) Sinowski who was Called Home on April 13, 2016; his former wife, Lorraine (LeMay) Catalano; and his brothers and sisters. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. Prayer Service at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
