Joyce E. (Linhares) Tillett, 80 of Acushnet died December 17, 2019 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Charles P. Tillett.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Manuel Linhares and Eva (Lucas) Mach and her late husband Theodor, she lived in Acushnet most of her life.
She was formerly employed as a self-employed cake maker and caterer for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing poker, camping on Cape Cod and wintering in Florida.
Survivors include her 6 step-children, Debra St. Pierre and her husband Wayne, Tracey Manzone and her husband Gene, Sandra Tillett and Patricia McClurg, all of Fairhaven, Charles Tillett, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Austin, TX and Andrew Tillett and his wife Eva of Fairhaven; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Linhares of Acushnet; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.
She was the mother of the late Kenneth Heidkamp, grandmother of the late Joseph St. Pierre and Kenneth Heidkamp, Jr. and sister of the late Stephen Linhares, Sr.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 20th at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 19th from 6-8 PM.
