Shirley May (Cannon) Gidley, 82, of New Bedford passed away Sunday December 8, 2019. She was the wife of the late Andrew David Gidley.
Born in Lakeville, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Alfred Cannon and Florence (Pittsley) Cannon, and stepdaughter of the late Gladys Cannon.
Shirley worked on Cape Cod as a housekeeper and at Ocean Spray Cranberry Company in South Carver.
She was a member of the Lakeville Eagles for several years. She enjoyed doing word scramble books.
She is survived by six children, Marie A. Mattos of New Bedford, Joyce A. DeJesus of South Dartmouth, Andrew D. Gidley of Florida, Bruce K. Gidley, Kevin B. Gidley, and Scott W. Gidley, all of New Bedford; her sister, Barbara Wainwright; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Cindy L. Gidley, and her brothers, Chester Warren Cannon and Nelson Alfred Cannon, Jr.
Funeral Services will be private.
