New Bedford – Ernesto Matias Brum, age 85, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria de Conceicao (Veloso) Brum.
Ernesto was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Antone and Maria de Jesus Brum. He had been a carpenter and painter over the years for several construction companies in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Edward Brum and his wife Anne, Mary DiPaola and her husband Daniel, Delores Brum and her companion John Vieira, Elizabeth Coelho and her husband John; grandchildren, Jade, Tyler, Jonathan, Sarah and Lucas; a great-grandchild on the way; 1 living sister in Portugal and sister-in-law Maria Motta and her husband Joseph. He also was the brother of several deceased siblings.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, Ernesto’s funeral services will be private.
