Jeffrey Lamar Rodgers, Sr., 57, of Cordele, Georgia, died Sunday, December 15, 2019, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Pastor Randy Holt and Pastor Richard Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Jeffrey was born December 5, 1962, in Irwin County, Georgia, to Thomas Lamar & Roberta Florence Thompson Rodgers of Fitzgerald. He worked as a mechanic at H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and Modern Fibers. He was a semi-truck driver for 28 years and enjoyed driving across the country, always accompanied by his faithful four-legged companion, Callie, who will greatly miss him. He attended Higher Praise Apostolic Church in Fitzgerald.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey Lamar Rodgers, Jr. & Elizabeth of Hartwell; a daughter: Amber Walls & Jason of Hoschton; nine grandchildren: Nataleigh Walls, Mallorie Walls, Ava Walls, Lola Walls, Tristan Walls, Jade Heath, Shane Rodgers, Landon Rodgers, and Zion Rodgers; his significant other, Valerie Layton of Cordele; two sisters: Ramona Rhodes & Richard of Abbeville and Regina Holt & Randy of Fitzgerald; as well as several nieces and nephews.
