Brenda Sue McLemore, 73, of Ocilla, Georgia and Tyrone, Georgia, passed away on December 10, 2019 in Victorville, California. She was born on November 5, 1946 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Donald J. Lewis and Frances Royal Lewis.
Brenda graduated from Irwin County High School where she served as a majorette and developed a love for music, especially Elvis Presley. She was also a fan of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Throughout her childhood, she played the piano and took dancing lessons.
Brenda was married to Bill McLemore from Nichols, Georgia, and together they moved to Tyrone, Georgia and owned the well-known Tyrone Self Service grocery and gas station for many years. Bill passed away in 1999.
Brenda and Bill had two children, Scott McLemore and Wendy McLemore Miller. Brenda loved spending time with her grandchildren, family members, and close friends.
Health issues in 1984 caused Brenda to live the remainder of her life disabled. These problems eventually led her to relocate to Victorville, California in 2016, where she was cared for by her son Scott until her death.
Survivors include her son, Scott McLemore, and her daughter Wendy McLemore Miller and her husband Joe Miller; grandchildren Joe Miller II and Katelyn Miller; brother, Wayne Lewis and his wife Linda Gail; sister-in-law, Iris Coley Prichett; nieces and nephews: Kellie Lewis Eldridge, Kim Lewis Davis, Jeff Lewis & Leshia and Brad Lewis and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donny Lewis.
Close friends include Joyce Reynolds, Memory Thompson, Janice Wallace, and Cindy Peppers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at Frank Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
