Annie L. “Peewee” Harrell Kitchens, 88, of Lenox passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Leila United Methodist Church in Omega with the Rev. Greg Hester officiating. Mrs. Kitchens will be laid to rest at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega. The family will receive friends Monday, December 16, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Kitchens will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Kitchens’ great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Kitchens’ grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born July 3, 1931 in Nashville, Mrs. Kitchens was the daughter of the late William Holton Harrell and Carrie Belle Colvin Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Hoyt “Pete” Kitchens; one son, Bobby Kitchens; two brothers, Frank Harrell and George M. Harrell; and one sister, Nadine Crawley. She was a homemaker and a member of Leila United Methodist Church in Omega.
Mrs. Kitchens is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda Jacobs of Moultrie, Peggy and Donald Roberts of West Berrien and Hilda Yelverton and Cindy and Ronnie Kailing, all of Lenox; one sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Bill McMahan of Tifton; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Prissy.
