Obituary




Mr. John G. Vachon, 44, of 412 Goebel Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Saturday evening January 28, 2006 surrounded by his family at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, following a long illness. He was born in St. Hyacinthe, P.Q. Canada on June 16, 1961 and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Vachon was employed as a truck driver for his father Jules Vachon and for other local trucking businesses. Even though John was sick, he enjoyed life to the fullest. John enjoyed being around people, being in the public and making people laugh. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and had played in the youth group at St. Anne Church. He had a very good voice.

Members of the family include his wife Nancy (Poirier) Vachon of Berlin; his parents Jules and Barbara (Jeffers) Vachon of Berlin; a son Johnathan Fortier of Oxnard Naval Base, California ; a brother Yvan Vachon and his wife Debbie of Conway, NH; a sister Lisa Cawley and her husband Mason of Talking Rock, Georgia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning Feb. 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant Street, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
