Nicholas Almeida, a resident of Peabody and formerly of Saugus and Malden, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston following an extended illness. He was 67 years old.
Nicholas was born in Malden on April 15, 1952, a son of the late James P. Almeida and Marianne (Buckley) Almeida. He grew up in Malden where he was educated and graduated high school. Nicholas worked as a delivery driver for UPS in Lynnfield for 32 years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, an excellent dancer, and loved music. Nicholas attended the Woodstock Festival and still had his tickets. He enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals with his wife Peg, and traveling to the Florida Keys, Vermont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was a member of Teamsters Local #25 and the Malden Elks.
Nicholas is the devoted husband of 38 years to Peg (Spaulding) Almeida. He is the beloved father of Nicko Almeida and his wife Lauren, and Tim Almeida and his fiancé Katey. He is the loving Pappy to his granddaughter Sunny. He is the beloved brother of Tony Almeida and his wife Cathy, Jamie Almeida, John Almeida and his wife Lori, and the late Chris and David Almeida. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nicholas' visiting hours on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in The Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main St. Malden. Burial is private.
