New Bedford – Albert Gaspar, Jr., age 95, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his home. He was the loving husband of Aurora (Lameiras) Gaspar, who survives. They shared 68 wonderful years together.
Al was a lifelong resident of New Bedford, born to the late Albert & Mary Gaspar, Sr. He served in the US Army and went on to have a successful career with the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed his job and all the people he met along the way.
Although Al and his wife never had children of their own, they played a significant role in the lives of their nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Aurora, Al is survived by Aurora Ritchie of Timberville, VA; Bradley Cardoza and wife Candy of Mattapoisett; Lisa Hess and husband Mark of McGaheysville, VA; Brad Cardoza and Jen McHugh of Fairhaven; Ben Cardoza of Mattapoisett; Lindsay Hess of Grottoes, VA and Madisyn Hess of Newport News, VA.
He was a loving husband, uncy and friend who will forever be remembered for his good-natured spirit and great sense of humor.
