Obituary

God has recalled his angel on earth. Diane Sullivan Bassett (Haddad), an avid giver who asked little in return, passed November 5, 2019. She joins her loving parents Mae and Mitchell Haddad and sister Paula.

Diane is survived by three beautiful, strong, and productive children, Katrina Sullivan, Billy Sullivan, Donna Sullivan, grandson Grayham Ronan, two sisters Ginger Haddad and Peggy Haddad, two brothers Richard Haddad and Robert Haddad, and her husband Richard Bassett and former spouse Joseph Sullivan.

After graduating near the head of her 1952 Roslindale class of two thousand, Diane focused on work and family. Few 'professions' were open to women of that era. Diane persevered and became a medical technologist, and later, an executive secretary. There she typed an incredible 137 words per minute without error earning her the nickname of 'flying fingers'.

More importantly, her mentoring of others earned her the love and respect of all. Diane's mentoring skills showed in her teaching abilities. Diane had a love of music and was an accomplished guitarist. Dozens of students from the Boston area and the Yakima, WA, area will remember and appreciate her kind, gentle, and encouraging instruction on the guitar. Diane knew little about taking. Giving was her passion. Gone is God's angel on earth.

At the request of her family, services were held privately.
