Carmela (Rocino) Sirignano, age 90, of Woburn, formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully at home, on December 5, 2019. She was the beloved and devoted wife for 61 years to Luigi Sirignano.
Born in Salerno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Bernardo and Filomena (Graziano) Rocino. She came to the U.S. when she was 26 years old, and settled in Everett.
A seamstress and homemaker, Mrs. Sirignano was known to many for her helpful and valuable skills, and made many lifelong friends.
She enjoyed cooking and traveling abroad to visit family in Italy and Brazil. In her retirement she enjoyed many wonderful years living in Sarasota, FL riding her bike, playing bocce and bingo in the clubhouse and cooking for friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sister Jennie and Stanley Malvarosa.
In addition to her husband, Luigi, Carmela leaves behind her children: Orazio Sirignano of Woburn, Ben Sirignano and wife Julie of Wrentham, Lou Sirignano and wife Lori of Winchester, Anthony Sirignano and partner Robert Emrick of Spring Hill, FL, and MaryAnn Puopolo and husband Mark of Woburn. She was the dear sister of Guido Rocino and wife Marguerite of Everett, Biaggio Rocino and wife Ligidia of Brazil, and the late Jennie Malvarosa and husband Stanley of Woburn and the late Anna Galluzzo of Somerville.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Monday, Dec. 9 from 9:30AM – 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 11:30AM.
