Richard E. Everett, 77, of Simmonsville Avenue, Johnston, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Ruth I. (Grinrod) Everett. They were married in 1973 after a ten-year courtship.
Born in Effingham, Illinois, Richard was a son of the late Renis Everett and the late Louise (Gillespie) Rebello. He had lived in Johnston since 2003 and had previously lived in Illinois. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam.
Richard has worked as a mechanic for Dunne Ford for 20 years. He had also worked as a Security Officer for Professional Security for 20 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter: Sandra Garcia and her husband, Marshall of Greenville, his grandchildren: Shana DeFelice and her husband, Arthur of East Greenwich, Amanda Leon and her husband, Ray of Edgewood, Damian Walsh of Smithfield, his great grandchildren: Gabriel Leon, Celia DeFelice, Roman Leon, Evelyn DeFelice, Gus Defelice and Juliana Walsh and his brothers: Charles Everett of Ohio and David Everett of Effingham, IL. He was the brother of the late Loren, Paul and Robert “Bob” Everett.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday at noon in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm.
