Joseph D. Saulnier II, 52 of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Lakewood, CA and New Bedford, MA died December 2, 2019 peacefully at home due to complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
He was the son of Ellen J. Saulnier and the late Ralph J. Saulnier.
Born in New Bedford, MA, Joe graduated from Bishop Stang High School and UMASS Dartmouth. He moved to California where he happily lived for 19 years before moving to Florida for the remainder of his days, with family close by.
Joe was a freelance web designer/developer. He enjoyed hiking, running, mountain biking, and going to live band events with friends. He had an upbeat, playful spirit, and was an avid history buff. Knowledgeable on a myriad of subjects, Joe was a lifetime learner and fascinated by so many different things. He loved animals and nature, especially the beaches of Southern California and the west coast of Florida, where he enjoyed swimming and diving.
Survivors include his mother Ellen, his sister Nina Saulnier of Fairhaven, 2 uncles, Donald Saulnier of Dartmouth, and Alfred Carlson of Venice, FL, an aunt, Jeanne Saulnier Stellato of Englewood, FL, and several cousins and great friends.
His memorial and burial will be privately held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donations in remembrance of Joe to the ALS Foundation would be much appreciated. http://www.alsa.org/donate/
