Michael Chittum, age 65 of Chattanooga, TN passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon.
He graduated from Redkey High School in 1972; attended Indiana State; completed his bachelors degree from Ball State; attended MIT in Boston, MA, and earned a masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Phoenix. He loved learning and never stopped continuing his education. He was an avid reader, enjoyed boating and traveling.
He worked as an Engineer for Life Line in Boston, MA and was currently working for Blue Cross & Blue Shield in TN.
Michael was the son of Max and June Chittum-Lucas.
Michael is survived by his mother (June Lucas); two sisters, Judith (husband: Jeff) Hammers, Vivian (husband: David) Champ; a son, Andrew (wife: Jennifer) Chittum; a daughter, Laurelin (husband: Craig) Henderson; and five grandchildren (Alexah, Isabella, Asher, Jasper and Clara); several nieces and nephews.
Michael was proceeded in death by his father, Max Chittum.
Celebration of Life will be Sunday, Dec 8th, 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m. at the Christian Church in Redkey. Burial of cremated remains will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey.
