Josephine (Scimemi) Medal, 80, of Franklin died December 3 at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Boston, June 15,1939, the daughter of the late Diego and Nancy Scimemi, Josephine was raised in Boston and had been a resident of Franklin since 1972.
She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston.
Josephine worked at Norfolk State Prison in a bookkeeper/secretarial position for many years.
After retiring , she became a Volunteer Coordinator at the Franklin Senior Center for several years as well.
When Josie wasn’t the life of the party laughing and singing at the Senior Center events, she could be found connected to her Kindle. She was an avid reader of historical romance novels, including her beloved Twilight series. The food channel also provided many creative recipes for Josie to try out in the kitchen over the years as she combined those ideas with her own culinary talents.
She is survived by her three children, Nancy Betts, Michelle Betts and Victor Medal.
There will be a private service.
