Shirley L. (Pinto) Gomes, 74, of New Bedford died December 2, 2019 peacefully at home.
She was the wife of the late Everett M. Gomes.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Edwin and Virginia (Gonsalves) Pinto, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Gomes was formerly employed with Com Electric for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Susan A. Sullavou Temple #94.
Mrs. Gomes enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, bingo, travel and Foxwoods.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Dias and her husband Tony of New Bedford; 2 step-sons, Everett Gomes, Jr., of Rhode Island and Brian Gomes of Boston; 3 step-daughters, Angie Dyson and Linda Gomes, both of Florida, and Anita Stuart of Kansas City; a brother, David Pinto and his companion Sue Oliveira of Fairhaven; a sister, Phyllis Fernandes of Carver; a sister-in-law, Maria Pinto of Quincy; her aunt, Alice DeCruz; 3 grandchildren, Loryn, Dawn-Ashlie and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the step-mother of the late Christina Gomes and the sister of the late James Pinto and Robert Pinto and sister-in-law of the late Richard Fernandes.
Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 3-7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
