Lucille L. (Corbin) Blanchette, 102, a former resident of Salem and Peabody, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Ledgewood Bay Assisted Living in Milford, NH where she had been a resident since 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late Camille C. Blanchette with whom she had shared 52 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Aurise (Bousquet) Corbin. Her family had been one of the founding families of Ste. Anne Parish in the Castle Hill section of Salem.
Lucille devoted her life to the care and raising of her family and also cherished her large extended family. She was a member of the Ste. Anne Catholic Women’s League and following the family’s move to Peabody in 1952, she became a member of the St. John the Baptist Sodality.
An active and independent woman she loved hand crafts and her rabbits. Lucille was a member of the Peabody Garden Club, Essex County Rabbit/Cavy Breeders Assoc. and the Essex County Agricultural Society.
She is survived by her sons, Armand V. Blanchette, Sr. of Salem, Roland P. Blanchette and his wife Valerie of Merrimack, NH, five grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as many nieces, nephews & grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Theresa E. Reynolds, her daughter-in-law, Donna Blanchette, her brothers, Leo, Henry, Alfred, Donat, Rene & Victor Corbin and sisters, Edith Pelletier, Mabel Beaulieu and Sister Anastasia Corbin.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours, at the funeral home, are on Wednesday, Dec. 4th from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M.
