FALL RIVER – Eva (Travassos) Souza, 95 of Fall River & formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Souza. Born in Fall River she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Emelia (Barboza) Travassos.
Prior to retiring in 1986, Eva worked for A&A Mfg. Co for 33 years, and was also a sales rep. for Avon. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. and of the South Swansea Baptist Church.
She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Jane (Phillips) Souza of Swansea; 2 granddaughters: Jody Lynn (Souza) Wilson and her husband Derek and Shelly Ann (Souza) Roy and her husband Henry; 5 great grandchildren Jacob, Trevor and Luke Wilson, Jackson and Harrison Roy; many nieces & nephews. Eva was also the sister of the late Louis & Domingos Travassos Travis, Gil Travassos, Manuel “Rudy” Travassos, Georgianna Reed, Rose Souza, Eliza Avila, & Mary Lima.
Family & friends are invited to visit with Eva’s family on Wednesday, Dec. 4th from 4-8 P.M. with a service at 7:00 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. Interment will be private. www.rogersfuneral.com
