George L. Yore
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather
TEWKSBURY: George L. Yore, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for 25 years, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sarah E. (Vitka) Yore. Born and raised in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John V. Yore and the late Anna (Mullen) Yore.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kristin L. Klostermann and her husband Joseph of Westford, Hannah E. Yore of Brooklyn, NY and Rachel A. Yore of Tewksbury; grandchildren, Joseph, Jillian, and Brian Klostermann; siblings, June Martineau of Leominster, Anne Tyler of Billerica, Kathy DeFrancisco and her husband Tony of Maynard, and Lorraine Wilson and her husband Paul of Shirley; also many nieces and nephews.
George was pre-deceased by his brothers John and Lawrence Yore and his brothers-in-law Normand Martineau and Richard Tyler.
Prior to his retirement, George had a long career as a machinist for Boston area machine shops and engineering companies. He derived great pleasure from spending time at the ocean. He will be remembered for his love of the game of pool. A long-time member of the Woburn Moose Lodge, he played on their pool league for many years. In recent years he enjoyed playing on leagues and with his friends at the Tewksbury Senior Center.
George’s family wishes to thank the staff at Care Dimensions Hospice for the exceptional care and comfort that they provided for George and his family during his final days.
Memorial calling hours are Friday, Dec. 6 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Family and friends are invited to meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, at the Wildwood Cemetery, 34 Palmer Street, Winchester for his graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Tewksbury Senior Center, 175 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
