Carolyn M. Scott, 87, of Ashburn, GA passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Carl Frederick Meier and Ludie Vick White, she was born in Atlanta, GA and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashburn.
She enjoyed gardening, visits to the beach and had a special love for her animals, especially her cats and her birds. She was a member of the Peanut Brigade in Maryland and was a proud supporter and campaigned for President Jimmy Carter during his presidential election.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children, Daniel Lee (Joanne) Hanner of Hartwell, GA; Donna Louise (Wes) Hofferber of Monroe, GA; Barbara Carol (Alan) Foster of Lilburn, GA; Nancy Gayle (Jeb) Boulware of Clearwater, FL; Dr. Jim (Holly) Scott of Tifton, GA and Margaret Ann Ewing of Ashburn, GA; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 2, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel. Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281, at 1:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Tifton Humane Society.
