WEBSTER – Albert Gaboury, Jr., 81, died Sunday at Saint Mary’s Health Care, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Helen M. (Decoste) Gaboury; 4 children, Lynn A. Tetreault and her companion Stanley Petka, Albert P. Gadoury III and his wife Joyce, Robert F. Gaboury and his companion Christine, and Rebecca G. Desrosiers and her husband Roy, all of Webster; 7 grandchildren, Nicole Saksa, Jason Gaboury, Samantha Cross, Steven Gaboury, Matthew McKay, Emily Desrosiers and Sarah Desrosiers; 5 great-grandchildren, Korin, Madalyn, Jacey, Ryder and Alise; 3 brothers, Robert Gaboury of Southbridge, Roland Gaboury of Webster, and Norman Gaboury of Agawam; 2 sisters, Pauline Stevens of Westminster and Linda Gaboury of Webster; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Tetreault in 1989, and by a sister, Marion Gaboury in 2016
He was born and raised in Dudley, the oldest of the 7 children of Albert and Gabriel (Ricard) Gaboury and lived in Dudley and Webster all his life.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He first worked in home construction for R. H. White in Worcester and then for Soper Construction in Southbridge. He was a truck driver for Wheelabrator Company in Millbury. After retiring, he was a van driver for several years.
Mr. Gaboury was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He enjoyed coin collecting, hunting and fishing. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots.
A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
