Margaret M. “Peggy” Steele, age 71, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Attleboro, MA on January 24, 1948, she was a loving daughter of the late Richard F. and Rita M. (Belcher) Steele.
Peggy grew up in Mansfield and was a 1966 graduate of Mansfield High School. Prior to retiring she had been employed for twenty years at Motorola in Mansfield and also when the company operated originally as Codex Corporation. She retired with the position of a Group Leader.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Peggy loved spending time with her family and had a special place in her hearts for her cats: “Freddie” and “Frances”. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing games on the computer.
She was the dear and devoted sister of Rita M. Fanning and her husband Robert of Mansfield, Mary E. Harrison and her husband David of Mansfield and the late Ann Marie Steele. She is also survived by her cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Wednesday, November 27th at 1:00 P.M. at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, corner of Mechanic and Chestnut Streets in Foxborough.
Visiting hours at the funeral home have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, Margaret’s family has requested that contributions in her memory be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
