Obituary

Richard G. Dube, 70, of Fairhaven died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at home surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was the husband of Pauline R. (Poulin) Dube.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late George and Catherine (Oste) Dube, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Richard was formerly employed as a delivery driver for Nabisco. Later he was employed as a shellfish warden for the Town of Fairhaven.

During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Richard was an outdoorsman and enjoyed wood carving, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; two sons, Richard G. Dube, II of New Bedford and Timothy R. Dube and his wife Julie of Erie, PA; his sister, Deborah Henry of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Justin and his wife Hailey, Jared and his wife Shante, Angela, Naomi, Jayden, and Hunter; four nieces, Michelle, Danielle, Bobbie and her husband Danny, and Gina and her husband Scott; and a nephew, Russell and his wife Vera.

His Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 74 Spring Street, Fairhaven. Richard's family will greet guests at the church beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory can be made to Wreaths Across America, P.O. Box 249, Columbia Falls, ME 04623.
