James Carl Shamberger, 71 of Londonderry, NH passed away Monday November 18, 2019 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born December 13, 1947, son of the late Alfred and Mary (Buika) Shamberger. He was raised and educated in Methuen, MA and was a graduate of Tenney High School. Jim received an Associate degree from Wentworth College and his Bachelor’s in Education from Fitchburg State College. He and his wife Nancy have been residents of Londonderry for more than 20 years.
Mr. Shamberger was employed for 35 years at Methuen High School, where he created and taught the school’s first Graphic Arts program. He was an avid photographer and was a professional wedding photographer for over 25 years. Those who knew him would describe him as the most kind and gentle soul you would ever want to meet. Everyone loved him. Jim enjoyed spending his retirement with his family and friends as well as reconnecting with some of his favorite hobbies. He loved nature, bird watching, the stars, and meteor showers. He was renowned for his appreciation for all things related to ice cream. Jim was an enthusiastic supporter of the Patriots and Red Sox, loved cats and cherished his relationships with his friends and former students. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to and love of his wife, children and grandchildren and how he would devote so much time taking photographs of them all.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Phillips-Shamberger, four children, Jami Dion and husband Mike, Joshua Shamberger and wife Katie, Jennifer Dibbert and husband Jake, Brian Shamberger and wife Alanna and a step-son, Sean Kelley, eight grandchildren, Tyla, Conner, Ryhan, Joshua, Mia, Peter Jacob “PJ”, Jackson and Evelyn, former wife, Barbara Blanchette and cousin Ellen McAlinden. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Shamberger, and his stepson, Michael Kelley.
After cremation, a Memorial Service was held Sunday November 24, 2019 at 4pm at the Orchard Christian Fellowship, 136 Pillsbury Road, Londonderry followed by light refreshments.
