Ronald Francis Silk
NASHUA, NH: Ronald Francis Silk, age 76, a resident of Nashua for the past 10 years, formerly of Seabrook Beach, NH, and Tewksbury, MA, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 10, 2019.
Born in Somerville, MA on December 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Martin H. Silk and the late Lillian F.(Flynn) Silk.
Ron was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools, and graduated from Tewksbury High School. Ron was active in High school sports playing varsity baseball and basketball. He will always be a 'Redman' .
His baseball prowess earned him a scholarship at Northeastern University .
Ron served his country in the Air Force Reserve with a long tenure in a reserve unit stationed on Cape Cod. His reserve weekends were long and tiring .
Prior to his retirement, he worked for the Raytheon Corporation as a Supervisor and Production Scheduler.
Ron hosted many extended family gatherings in that mammoth family room in Tewksbury .
In his later years ,Ron enjoyed spending considerable time in the White Mts. and the seacoasts of New Hampshire and Maine .
Ron was kept company over the last few years by his cat 'Puddy' , which he cherished .
Family members include siblings, the late Richard M. Silk and his wife Kathleen of Tewksbury,MA, Robert J. Silk and his late wife Joreen of Shelburne, VT, and the late Lorraine L. Hansen,wife of Arthur Hansen of Nashua NH . Nieces and Nephews, Kathleen A. Weitz, Richard A., Daniel A., and Stephen A. Silk, Christian A. Stone, Kerry A. Quinn, Todd M. Silk, Desiree A. Taylor, the late Collin M. Silk, Eric M. Hansen, and Amy L. Smith. Ron's extended family included so many nieces and nephews who will miss his presence.
Family and friends are invited to meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 23rd at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury for a Mass of Christian Burial .Services will conclude with interment of his ashes at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice .
