Obituary

Laconia----Margaret “Maggie” H. Thompson, 87, formerly of New Jersey, died on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Taylor Community surrounded by family.

Maggie was born in Louisville, KY, and graduated from the University of Louisville where she met her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bert” Thompson.

Maggie and Bert discovered Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire in 1970 and subsequently bought a house on the lake and retired there after living in New Jersey for almost 50 years. The lake provided a place for family and friends to gather, swim, boat, ski, and enjoy.

While living in NJ, Maggie and Bert were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany, singing in the choir. Upon retirement, they continued their commitment at the Kearsarge Presbyterian Church of New London, singing in the choir and being actively involved.

Maggie was predeceased by her son, Rob. She is survived by her husband, Bert; her sister, Jean Korfhage; her daughter, Kathy Reardon and son-in-law, John Reardon; her daughter, Libby Makar and son-in-law, Bob Makar; her daughter in law, Beth Thompson; seven grandchildren, Kristin Makar, Keith Makar, Stephanie Reardon, Kara Reardon, Suzy Thompson, Ali Thompson and Erika Thompson.

Maggie will leave behind a legacy which the family will all follow; love your family, friends, and life itself.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in spring 2020.
