William H. Kelley, Jr., 90

William H. Kelley, Jr., age 90, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Gladys M. (del Portal) Kelley.

Born in Wigan, England on September 3, 1929, he was a loving son of the late William H., Sr. and Annie (Martindale) Kelley.

Bill grew up and was educated in Hanson. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged from active duty on September 8, 1953 with the rank on Staff Sergeant.

A resident of Norton for the past nineteen years, he formerly resided in Easton. Mr. Kelley retired from the U.S. Postal Service following twenty-six years of loyal employment as a telephone operator.

Bill loved spending time with his adoring family. He was a member of the Hanson Athletic Club and his hobbies included woodcarving, woodworking, crossword puzzles, reading and enjoying nature with long walks in the woods.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Brian Kelley and his wife Michele of Florida, Susan Eno and her husband Jason of Mansfield, Julian Menendez and his wife Denise of East Bridgewater and Jacqueline Manzo of Norton. He was the dear brother of the late George Kelley, Thomas Kelley, John Kelley, Annie Cote and James Kelley. He is also survived by his cherished 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of services.

Visiting hours are omitted and burial will take privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
