Ruth (Bertrand) Gaudette, age 89, died on Nov. 18, 2019 at Day Brook Village in Holyoke. She was born in Northampton to the late Wilfred and Olive (Parent) Bertrand. She attended school in Northampton and graduated from Springfield Technical Community College as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant). She was former Hampden District President and State President of Medical Assistants. She was also co-chairman of the National Convention held in Boston. She retired in 1994 from Holyoke Internists Inc. where she worked with Dr. Frank Meyers. She was a volunteer at Shriners' Children Hospital, the Chicopee Senior Center and Friends, and the Singing Swinging Seniors Show Group. Ruth also belonged to the Chicopee Falls Women's Club and Mary Mother of Hope Women's Club. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Gaudette who passed away in 2010. She leaves her son David and his wife Vera of Chicopee; 3 grandchildren, Emilio, Gemma and Louisa. She is also predeceased by her Siblings Roy Bertrand, Arthur Bertrand, Rita Pichette Wilk and Jeanne Pichette Parsons. Calling hours will be held on Wed., Nov. 20, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Thur., Nov. 21, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the Grise` Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of Hope Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
