Dorothy A. Whitefield, age 77, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in Medford at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Somerville, Dorothy was a lifelong Medford resident. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Goldberg) & Peter Martin Whitefield.
Dorothy retired from Filene´s Basement in 1990 at the age of 62 after working for many years as a salesperson in the Boston location.
Dorothy was the sister of the late Elizabeth. Aunt of one niece and two nephews of Arkansas. Niece of Eleanor Roberts of Brighton, and beloved friend of Donna and Paul Carrigan of Tewksbury.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday evening 7 - 9.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
