WORCESTER: Dominga (Rodriguez) Torres, 96, of Fiske Street died Wednesday, November 13 in her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Her husband Juan Torres died in 2018. She leaves a son Arnaldo Torres and his wife Ana of Hackensack, NJ, a daughter Hondina Valdez and her husband Porfirio with whom she lived, two sisters Maria Rodriguez of Worcester and Edita Guzman of Santiago, Dominican Republic, a brother Ramon Rodriguez of Tampa, FL, five grandchildren; Onysela, Emmanuel "Manny", Amaury, Arniel & Sean, four great grandchildren; Emmanuel Arturo, Nicole, Boris & Dylan, several nieces and nephews and she also leaves Laly Tavares of Bronx, New York and Daisy Garcia of Manhattan, New York whom she loved and treated like a daughters.
Dominga was born in San Jose, De Las Matas Dominican Republic, daughter of Felix and Juana (Ramirez) Rodriguez. She was a very dedicated and hard worker providing for her family for many years. She enjoyed cooking especially her marmalade, dancing, gardening, flowers, traveling especially taking cruises and collecting family photos. She was quick witted and always enjoyed joking around. The joy of her life was spending time with her family and cooking for them all. She was a devoted catholic, faith was very important to her and she always said a daily prayer to Saint Gregorio Hernandez.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 17 at 2:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Dominican Republic at a later date. Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00-2:00 PM.
