Obituary

David W. Vautier, 80, of Londonderry, NH, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Mr. Vautier was born in Haverhill, MA on June 29, 1925, a son of the late William T. and Laura L. (Bernard) Vautier. He was a resident of Londonderry since 1961, formerly living in Windsor, VT. He was a US Army WWII veteran and was part of the first wave to storm Omaha Beach. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Vautier was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry, a member of the VFW, and a member of the DAV of America. He was also a member of the Londonderry Lions Club and the Londonderry Senior Citizens. Mr. Vautier enjoyed drawing, painting, bowling, carving, fishing, and collecting can tabs to benefit dialysis patients.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Holmes) Vautier of Londonderry, two daughters, Susan Vautier Jacques, Diane Vautier, both of Londonderry, one son, David L. Vautier of Londonderry, two grandchildren, Jayne Jacques of Derry, NH, Joseph Jacques of Londonderry, two half sisters, Verna Jensen, and Kathy Peckham, both of MA, two sister-in-laws, Charlotte Moore of Pelham, NH, Ellen Vautier of Stoneham, MA, and 12 nephews.
Calling hours were on Friday, January 27, 2006 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Londonderry Lions Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 642, Londonderry, NH 03053 or to the Londonderry Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 605, Londonderry, NH 03053.
