Frank Sutton, 78, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Conway Harris officiating. Mr. Sutton will be laid to rest at Sutton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Members of the American Legion Post 21, will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Believer’s Baptist Church in Tifton.
Born October 22, 1941 in Tift County, Mr. Sutton was the son of the late Lester Sutton and Mary Frances Paulk Sutton. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Lester Sutton. Before retiring, he served as an Enforcement Officer with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, mowing grass and doing word puzzles. He was a member of Believer’s Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Edwards Sutton of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Dale Gay and Jody and Tim Jerry, all of Tifton and Mary Ann and the Rev. Ken Williams of Adel; and seven grandchildren, Renee Smith, Aubrey Dale Gay Jr., Joseph Daniel Gay, Catherine Rose Gay, Miranda Lynn Jerry, Elizabeth Marie Jerry and Kelli Anne Jerry.
