Matthew “Chic” Chiccuarelli passed away on November 11, 2019. He was 93 years old.
Matthew was a longtime resident of Malden. He was a World War II Veteran in both the United States Navy and United States Marines, and a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Matthew was the devoted husband of 60 years to the late Yolanda M. (Marinelli) Chiccuarelli. He was the son of the late Matthew and Juanita (Wenes) Chiuccarello. Matthew was the beloved father of Linda Tamasi and her husband Frank of GA, Matthew Chiccuarelli Jr. and Nancy Daley of Burlington, and Anthony Chiccuarelli and his wife Colleen of Malden. He was the dear brother of Jean Ummarino of NJ, and the late Michael Chiuccarello, Virginia DeStefano, and Phyllis Sarnese. Matthew was the cherished grandfather of Frank and Matthew Tamasi, Matthew, Cailyn, David, and Bailey Chiccuarelli. He was the great grandfather of Ashley, Dillon, Michael, Joshua, Cooper, and Luca, and great great grandfather of Annalee and Knox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his friends at 89 Pearl, and his beloved cat Tigger.
Funeral will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday November 18th at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6pm. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
