William C. Dukeshire of Methuen died on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, at Spaulding Hospital of Cambridge. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Herbert and Mary (Carleton) Dukeshire. William proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After returning home he married, raised a family and worked for Waltham Lumber as a truck driver. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 25. William loved the Patriots, was a great family man, and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. During his courageous battle with lung cancer, his wife nicknamed him 'Her Warrior"
William was the beloved husband of Yvonne M. (DeLorenzo) Dukeshire, and the devoted father of Scott Dukeshire and his wife Heidi, and John Dukeshire, all of Methuen. He was the loving grandfather of Nolan, and dear brother of Herbert Dukeshire of North Reading, Arthur Dukeshire of Medford, Frances Giambrone of Peabody, Thomas Dukeshire of Mena, Arkansas, and the late Helen Sargent. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, November 16 at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 11 through 1 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in William's name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development/Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
