Fernando "Fred" Capua, Passed away peacefully November 7, 2019 at the Winchester Hospital. He was 96 years of age. Fred, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (Rice) Capua. Born in Amesano, Italy he was the son of the late Peter and Rosa (Pietronguilli) Capua.
Fred came to the United States at the age of 6. He worked for many years as a custodian in the Stoneham Public School System. He was a former resident of New Horizons in Woburn, his second home and where he was one of the longest members of the community for 18 years.
Fred was the cherished brother of Peter Capua and his wife Florence (Pietrantonio) of Winchester, Rosario "Zar" Capua and his late wife Lois (Mastroianni) of Tewksbury, the late Angelo Capua and his late wife Barbara (Rowley). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their thanks to Care One Rehabilitation of Wilmington and a huge thanks to the Winchester Hospital Doctors and 3C Nurses for their wonderful care.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, November 16th, at 12 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
