Obituary

Barbara was a devoted daughter, loving mother, doting grandmother, loyal friend and exceptional nurse.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Robert Green and her brother Randall Green. She is survived by her Mother Helen Green (Anderson), Sister Sharon Kuhn (Anderson), daughter Melissa McElhoe (Anderson), son Aaron and Katherine McElhoe (Batesville), daughter Amanda McElhoe (Indianapolis), son Nathan and Kerri McElhoe (Anderson), 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a world traveler who enjoyed taking time to experience new places and meeting new people. Barbara was known for lending a hand to anyone. She could often be found crocheting a blanket for a co-worker expecting a new baby, volunteering to cover a shift so others could have time off, going on mission trips to serve others and always opened her home and heart to those in need.
Barbara’s compassion and concern for others was such a part of her life and lead her down the path of being the extraordinary nurse everyone knew and loved. Barbara received her nursing license from Ball State University in 1985 and started her nursing career at St. Vincent working in Critical Care/Open Heart. Barbara worked for many years at Franciscan Health in multiple areas including CCU, SICU and PACU. Barbara loved to care for her patients and continued to work to be able to spend time doing what she loved.
