Obituary

Worcester – Vincent P. “Buddy” Kelley, 82, of 21 Camp Street, died Tuesday, January 24th in Memorial Hospital. He leaves a nephew; Ronald W. Greenhalge of Worcester, 2 nieces; Carol A. Jewett of Sterling and Lois E. LaBreck of Franklin, many grand nephews and grand nieces including his primary care givers; Anthony J. and his wife Lynn M. Greenhalge of Webster. A sister; Winifred M. Greenhalge died January 7th. A brother; Thomas J. Kelley and a sister; Frances T. Kelley also predeceased him.


He was born in Worcester the son of Peter E. and Anastasia (Johnson) Kelley and would have celebrated his 83rd birthday today. Mr. Kelley was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School and was employed by the City of Worcester School Deprtment as a custodian for 42 years retiring in 1992. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, receiving a purple heart during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Kelley enjoyed reading, watching the Red Sox, and shopping at Spags. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church.


The funeral is Friday, January 27th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 1:30 PM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held from noon until the time of the funeral.
