Obituary

Rose Marie Wilson, 89, of Tewksbury, MA, passed away on November 2, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

In recent years Rose Marie called Windham Terrace of NH home. Rose Marie found a renewed spirit and zest for life during her time there. She was grateful for the outstanding care she received and the wonderful new friendships she made with employees and residents. Her time was brightened every day by their loving attention.

Rose Maire was born March 20th, 1930 in Malden MA to her parents Ernest and Lena Sola. She married the love of her life Edward (Duke) Wilson. Together they moved from the city to the peace of the country where they raised their four children surrounded by the woods and greenhouses of a small quaint town. Rose Marie loved her children and enjoyed raising them. She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.

Rose Maire was quite an accomplished woman. When she wasn’t taking her children for long walks in the woods seeking treasures to turn into works of art, she was painting, sewing, gardening, and sharing her love of music. There was nothing that Rose Marie couldn’t create, but most of all she was an amazing cook. Rose Marie loved sharing all these wonderful homemade treasures throughout the years with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Rose Marie was an avid participant in her community, she was a member of the Rotary Club, leader of Brownies, 4H and spindle club which she shared with her dear friend Joan McCool of Tewksbury.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Duke” Wilson and her brother Ernest Sola. She is survived by her four children and their families: Her daughters Donna Hauswirth and her husband Bob of Lowell, MA, and their son Rob; Lynda Brislin of Windham, NH, and her two children daughter Kasey and son John; Her sons Edward Wilson and his wife Terri of Colorado and their children Stephen, Tony and Amanda; her son James Wilson of Colorado and his wife Sheila, and children Krystin, Melissa , Jennifer and Jesse. She was the proud great-grandmother to Jade, Aiden, Marqus, Aero, Cambria, Tucker and Reese. She adored them all. She knew how to make each one feel special and unique for who they are. She so loved her neighbor and best friend Constance Morris who became her loving caregiver for many years, enabling her to remain in her beloved Tewksbury home just a little bit longer. Her family will be forever grateful to her.

Rose Marie will be forever remembered as a proud and good woman of great strength, character and resolve. All who knew her will remember her delightful sense of humor, intelligent conversation regarding any topic, her perseverance and her unwavering spirit of gratitude especially during the last years of her life.

Her lifetime is a lesson for all of us in what resolve looks like-both in the fortitude to never give up and in displaying such grace in her final surrender.

Per her request services will be private. To honor her remarkable life a celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made in Rose Marie’s memory to Continuum Care Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation who provided phenomenal final care to Rose Marie with such dignity and quality led by their amazing and knowledgeable hospice nurse Jeanine Fraser.
