Wanda I. Zemanek, age 86, passed away on Oct 31, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at Wingate of West Springfield. She was born in Springfield on Aug 19, 1933. Wanda was a graduate of Chicopee High Class of 1950. She was a communicant of St Anthony of Padua and a former treasurer and secretary of the Polish Cultural Society of Chicopee. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and long leisurely walks. Wanda also loved camping especially at Camp Overflow in Otis which she had done for over 50 years. She retired as an office manager for Allston Janitorial Supply where she worked over 20 years. She was predeceased by her mother Mary Nowak. Wanda leaves her loving husband Walter Zemanek of Chicopee; two sons, John Zemanek and his wife Elizabeth of Granby and Richard Zemanek and his wife Joanne of East Longmeadow and three grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew and Rachael Zemanek. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff and caregivers at Wingate of West Springfield for the care they had shown during her stay. A Funeral Service will be held on Wed, Nov 6, 2019 at11 am at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with burial to follow at St Stanislaus Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on the morning of the funeral Wed, Nov 6, 2019 from 9 am to 11 am at the funeral home.
