Eleanor D. (Seifert) Schmitt, 89, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2019 at The Cottages at Dartmouth Village. She was the wife of Donald F. Schmitt, they shared 71 years of marriage.
Mrs. Schmitt was born in Muskegon, MI, daughter of the late Otto and Margaret (Kniat) Seifert and had been a longtime resident of Westport. She was a former member of the Lady Elks, Lodge # 1264 of Framingham, MA and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Survivors along with her husband include her son: Paul Schmitt of Mendon, MA; her 3 daughters: Kathryn Crosby of Westport, Rebecca Owen of Batesville, MS and Laura Davis of Gadsdens, AL; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Carl Schmitt and sister of the late Donald Seifert and Doris Selig.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, from 10-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
