Obituary

East Bridgewater - Clyde T. Meserve, 80, of East Bridgewater died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Helen L. (Phillips) Meserve.

Born March 30, 1925, in North Abington, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Ethel (Thayer) Meserve.

Mr. Meserve owned and operated Meserve Appliance in East Bridgewater for 56 years. Prior to that, he owned his own electrical company and was a master electrician.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In his younger years, Mr. Meserve was a professional accordion player.

He was past president and lifetime member of the East Bridgewater Kiwanis Club, served on the board of MSPCC in Brockton and was co-operator of East Bridgewater Savings Bank.

Mr. Meserve had been a resident of East Bridgewater for the past 56 years and enjoyed traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John Meserve and his wife Mary of Taunton, and Bruce Meserve and his wife Vivian, Wayne Meserve and Jo-Ann Coles and her husband Shawn, all of East Bridgewater; his brothers and sister, Carl Meserve of Bridgewater, Albert Meserve of Raynham and Beverly Mitchell of Bridgewater; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held in the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Friday at 10 am. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
