Eloyce Douglas McSwain, 88, of Valdosta, Georgia, died Monday, October 28, 2019, at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie, Georgia surrounded by loved ones.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Kyle Taft officiating.
Mrs. McSwain was born January 19, 1931, in Ambrose, Georgia, to the late John W. & Mary Alice Harper Douglas. She was a former manager of Fitzgerald Underwear. She was also a union organizer for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was of the Baptist faith. Eloyce was fiercely protective, proud, and outspoken. She lived and loved in the loudest way possible, blazing a trail for all who followed in her footsteps.
She is survived by her children: Mike Nicolelli of Wray, Paul & Teresa McSwain of Valdosta and Kim & Major General Jon Norman of Niceville, Florida; grandchildren: April Morgan Nicolelli, Michael Anthony Nicolelli, Jr. & Kacie, Michael Justin Nicolelli, Jessica Miranda Nicolelli, Erin Norman, Matthew Norman, Mykenzi McSwain and Hunter McSwain; siblings: Louise & Bill Hicks of Connecticut, Martha Ann & Tommy Vickers of Alapaha, Geneva & J.V. Revels of Mystic and Hoyt Douglas of California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest McSwain, Jr.; two brothers: Aubrey Douglas and Kenneth Douglas and a sister, Florece Fragale.
