Obituary

ROCHESTER — Johanna Dee Vaughan, daughter of Carol W. Higgins and Clifton L. Vaughan, and mother of James DeMailly, unexpectedly passed on October 23, at age 60, in her home in Rochester.

In addition to her parents, Johanna leaves behind her loving brothers, Stephen, Michael, and Matthew Vaughan; niece Megan Rose; extended family members; numerous friends; and her beloved dogs, Yoko Ono and Mollie. She will be sorely missed by all.

Johanna was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. A genuinely beautiful woman, an avid animal lover and Christian, she was selfless, and caring. Her loss will leave leave an emptiness in all whom loved her. Knowing she rests in peaceful comfort with our Lord assists us all in the healing process. Although she will be severely missed, she will live in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives.

A service for family and close friends was held on Tuesday, October 29 at the Center Cemetery (also known as the Parish Cemetery) in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to First Congregational Church where Johanna attended, and where baptized
