Henry P. “Butch” Schaffer Jr., age 77, of Rockland and formerly of Weymouth passed away on October 27, 2019. Butch was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. He married his wife, Donna, in 1967 and they started a family together in Quincy before settling in Weymouth for over 40 years. After Butch returned from service in the Navy he became a Firefighter in Quincy where he served for 18 years eventually retiring from Quincy Point Station. Most recently he worked as a driver for Sullivan Tire which he enjoyed very much.
Butch enjoyed playing cards at the Weymouth Elks, casino’s, snowmobile trips, cruises, and travelling with his wife all over the United States.
Butch is survived by his beloved wife Donna Schaffer (Taylor) of Rockland, his loving children Gary Schaffer and his wife Terri of Norwell, Michelle Schaffer and her significant other Scott Grant of Norwood, and Tracy Scalisi of S. Weymouth, and his cherished grandchildren Aimee, Nicole, Olivia, and Ella. Butch is also the brother of Elaine Kenny of E. Boston, Annie Morse of Springfield, and the late Sharlene Gallery.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Butch on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 3-6pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service including an Elks Lodge of Sorrow and Navy Honors will take place immediately following the visitation at 6pm in the funeral home.
