Shawn A. Cooney, 48, of Berlin, NH passed away on Friday October 25, 2019 at the Country Village Healthcare Center in Lancaster. He was born in Berlin, NH on October 22, 1971 the son of Andrew M. and Dianne (Valerino) Cooney and lived most of his life in Berlin. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1991 and from Paul Smiths College in 1993. Shawn had worked as a truck driver prior to working for Air Gas, where he was a branch manager. He was a member of the Gorham-Sabatis Lodge # 73 F & AM. Shawn enjoyed hunting rabbits with Beagles, mostly his enjoyment was running his dogs. He also enjoyed playing hockey. Shawn was a firefighter for the Town of Milan and was a Boston Bruins fan.
The family includes his wife Julie (Strout) Cooney of Berlin, NH; his children Braeden Cooney and Shea Cooney of Berlin, NH; his parents Andrew and Dianne Cooney of Berlin, NH; his sister Stacey Bilodeau and husband Timmy and their daughter Danielle of Groveton, NH; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and in-laws.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 2, 2019 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday evening in the funeral home.
