Stephen D. Deackoff
Honeywell Corporation Systems Engineer
TEWKSBURY: Stephen D. Deackoff, age 59, a resident of Tewksbury for over 20 years, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
He was the beloved husband of Gail A. (Mackey) Deackoff, with whom he celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on August 22, 2019.
Born in Waltham on June 29, 1960, he was the son of the late Leon P. Deackoff and the late Yuma (Stahmer) Deackoff.
Steve was raised in Watertown and Belmont, and graduated from Belmont High School in 1979.
Following high school, he attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he received his B.S. Degree in Computer Science.
Steve was currently employed by the Honeywell Corporation, where he worked as a Systems Engineer.
He was a longtime member and past chairman of the Tewksbury Conservation Commission. In addition, Steve served as a member of the Tewksbury Local Housing Partnership, and the Community Preservation Committee.
He enjoyed hosting family and friends at pool parties, traveling with his wife, Gail to Cancun, Mexico, and loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by two children, Harrison S. Deackoff and his wife Christina of Woburn, and Olivia G. Deackoff of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Bryan and Justin; his brother, John P. Deackoff of Houston, TX; his sister, Nancy W. Deackoff of South Windsor, CT; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James F. and Carole L. Mackey of Tewksbury; also many extended family members.
Steve was the brother of the late James M. Deackoff.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 30, from 12-2 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by his memorial graveside service to be held at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
