Obituary

David James Dick, 72, of East Bridgewater passed away surrounded by his loving family, at home on October 25th after a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband of Carole Mary (Cossette) Dick.

David was born on January 14, 1947 in Fremont, Ohio, son of the late Albert and Mabel (Willey) Dick.

He graduated from Fremont High School in 1965 in Fremont, Ohio, drafted out of Ohio University and served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1973 and was stationed in Newport, RI. David was honorably discharged in 1973 and settled in Brockton.

David owned and operated Crosby Supply Store on North Montello Street in Brockton, until he joined the Postal Service in 1995. He worked as a mechanic at the Brockton P& DC until he retired in 2014.

He was a Master Mason for 36 years through Baalis Sanford Lodge in Brockton. David became Worshipful Master from 1991-1993 and District Deputy Grandmaster from 1994-1995. He was also a member of the Paul Revere Lodge.

David was a very proud Navy veteran who built his home for his wife and stepchildren. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife for the last two years.

David loved working around the house, attending military events and following his favorite baseball team the Detroit Tigers and he got a chance to see them play and meet a few of their players in September 2019.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

In addition to his wife Carole, he leaves behind his son Brian Dick of Abington, his daughter Karen Drummond and her husband Jeff of Burlington, NC, and his grandchildren Taylor and Dillon both of Burlington, NC. He also leaves behind his stepchildren Thomas Rollins of East Bridgewater, Brittany Perrotta and her husband David of Holbrook and Rachel Rollins of East Bridgewater and his sister Dianne Domer and her husband Dave of Colorado. He was the brother of the late Donald Dick and Janet Weingarten

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday November 1 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
