TEWKSBURY – Danny died unexpectedly of Cardiac Arrest at the V.A. in West Roxbury on Oct.
25, at age 72. He resided in Leominster, along with his beloved wife of 37 years Jeanne (Corson)
Delaney.
He was born in Stoneham in 1947, one of four children of the late Mary (Blanchard) and
Jeremiah “Jerry” Delaney and raised in Tewksbury. He graduated from the Medford High Trade
School’s electrician program. Danny enlisted into the U.S. Navy, served during the Vietnam War
Era, and was honorably discharged as a Electricians Mate 3 rd Class. After his discharge, he joined the I.B.E.W Local 103 and was a member for 51 years. He was a Friend of Bill and celebrated 41 years of success this year.
He was the loving father to six children, Lori Delaney - Hull and her husband Daryl Hull of
Lowell, Herbert Delaney and his wife Rachel (Hurrell) of Concord, NH, Lori Osborne and her
significant other Micheal Owens of Salisbury, MA, Danielle Collorone and her husband Richard
Collorone of Townsend, MA, S.F.C Dana Osborne, US Army, and his wife Julia (Campbell) of
Harrisville, NH, and Joseph Delaney and his wife Tat’yana (Bocharnikova) of Sunderland, MA.
Danny’s 'Greatest Joy in Life' was being “Papa” and he lived for enjoying all 22 of his
grandchildren, and will be deeply missed by Marinda, Charlie, Ashlynn, Micheal, Liam, Kevin, Cameron, Ian , Sydney, Maddie, Kayla and her husband Steven, Randy and his longtime girlfriend Daniella, Jake, Hunter, Harrison, Brett, Madison, Declan, Jasmine, Sierra, Zoey and Donovan.
He is also survived by his brothers Jay Delaney and his wife Corrine (Cefelo) of Tewksbury,
Tommy Delaney of Methuen; his sister Denise Sullivan of Tewksbury; his sisters-in-law
Sharon(Corson) and her husband Joe Thomas of Reading, Marylou (Corson) and her husband
Frank Gianni of Tewksbury; and very dear and close family friends, Joyce Whalen, Tommy
Fury, Rick Willouby, and Jack Walsh; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Danny was predeceased by his wife Linda (Strasser)Delaney who died
in 1981; his sisters-in-law Christine Delaney, Patsy Carroll, Ellen Corson; and his brothers-in-law
Billy Sullivan, Butch Corson and Dennis Corson.
Visiting hours Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury, followed by a Celebration of Life.
