Beverly A. (Demar) Lockhart, age 95, of Islesboro, Maine, formerly of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Sussman House in Rockport, Maine. She was the beloved wife of the late George B. Lockhart who died in 1984.
Born in Taunton, MA on September 8, 1924, she was a loving daughter of the late Leon E. and Lilly (Gordon) Demar.
Beverly grew up in Taunton, was a graduate of Taunton High School and received her degree as a registered nurse.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Lockhart worked as a registered nurse at the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. She had also been employed for many years as a head nurse at Morton Hospital in Taunton and also at the former Union Hospital in Fall River.
Beverly’s favorite times by far were those spent with her adoring family. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her devoted children: Nancy A. Wuori and her husband Terrance of Islesboro, Maine, Robert G. Lockhart of Rehoboth and June L. Lillihill of Greenville, New Hampshire. She was the dear sister of the late Leon E. Demar and Virginia Bottomley and is also survived by her cherished 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
A private graveside funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th at the Rehoboth Village Cemetery in Rehoboth.
